Turtle Brownies
These easy semi-homemade brownies are so delicious, no one will know that you used a boxed brownie mix!! Toasted pecans and a rich caramel sauce make these fudgy brownies so decadent and loaded with flavor. It’s one of those desserts that are super impressive but don’t take a lot time to make. So when you’re not sure what to bring to a party, make these and I’m sure they will become one of your most requested desserts!!
Layers of:
Brownie Mix: Use whatever brownie mix is your favorite! I like to make these with Ghirardelli Ultimate Chocolate brownie mix
Pecans: Toast the pecans in a preheated oven at 350 for 7-10 minutes, making sure to turn half way and keeping a watchful eye on them…you don’t want the pecans to burn
Caramel Sauce: Feel free to use store bought here for an even easier turtle brownie! I like to make my two ingredient caramel sauce (click link for caramel sauce recipe) for this recipe to give it more of a homemade touch
Turtle Brownies
Ingredients
1 box brownie mix
1/2 cup toasted pecans, divided in half
1/2 cup caramel sauce, divided in half (click link for caramel sauce recipe)
Instructions
Make brownie mix according to package. Add in 1/4 cup toasted pecans and mix until just combined. In a 9x9 inch brownie pan pour in batter. Drizzle 1/4 cup of caramel sauce over the top and swirl into the brownie batter with a knife
Bake according to brownie mix box directions
Drizzle with remaining caramel sauce and toasted pecans. Enjoy
*Note: I like to double this recipe for thicker brownies and bake in a 9x13 pan. I make the brownie batter according to the box instructions but add 3 eggs instead of 2.
Made with a whole box of fruity crispy rice cereal - there’s beautiful pops of purple and orange in every bite, a whole bag of mini marshmallows, some butter, and sweetened condensed milk. Believe me, it’s so hard to eat just one! They’re a perfect treat to bring to a family gathering, over to a friend’s house for a sweet surprise, or a lunch box treat.
