Chocolate Covered Strawberry “Carrots”
These delicious chocolate covered strawberries are made to look like cute carrots in a garden of oreo “dirt” and coconut “grass”! They are are fun and festive treat to serve at any Easter gathering.
Time Saving Tips:
Can I make the chocolate covered strawberry “carrots” ahead of time? Yes, make the day before and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Do not make them more than a day ahead of time as the strawberries can start to sweat in the refrigerator causing the candy melt coating to have condensation on them.
Can I make the oreo “dirt” and coconut grass ahead of time? Absolutely! Make the oreo dirt and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Make the coconut “grass” up to 3 days before you will use it and store in an airtight container at room temperature.
Chocolate Covered Strawberry “carrots”
Ingredients
12 strawberries
12 ounce bag orange candy melts
12 oreos
2 tbsp butter, melted
1/4 cup shredded coconut
Green food dye
Instructions
Melt candy melts according to package. Wash and dry strawberries and dip into the melted candy melts, holding the stems - dip all the way to the base of the stems so no red shows
Place strawberries onto parchment paper to set. In a food processor add oreos and melted butter, pulse until a dirt like texture and spread out onto a plate. In a small bowl add shredded coconut and green dye, stir until fully coated in green. Sprinkle coconut “grass” on top of oreo “dirt” and top with strawberry “carrots”
