Apple Pecan Croissant Bake

The perfect warm breakfast for fall and the holidays that could even double as a dessert with a scoop of ice cream! And it couldn’t be any easier to make. The croissants are baked on top of a butter, brown sugar, apple, pecan mixture that turns into a caramel like sticky topping when finished! They are so simple to make that you can actually enjoy a hot cup of coffee while preparing them.

The croissants will take on an almost custard like texture since they are baking on top of the butter mixture, absorbing some of that liquid! Oh and your house will also smell AMAZING from the cinnamon, brown sugar, apples and pecans baking away. You will instantly feel all the fall / holiday vibes as this bakes away!

Apple Pecan Croissant Bake

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup butter

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 apple, diced

  • 1/3 cup pecans, chipped

  • 8 mini frozen croissants, do not thaw — I like the Trader Joe’s mini frozen croissants

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl add butter, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Place in microwave and heat for 30 seconds, stir and heat for another 30 seconds until all butter is melted. Add in apples and pecans to the bowl. Mix everything together until apples and pecans are coated. Pour mixture into the bottom of a pie pan and place frozen mini croissants right on top

  • Bake in oven for 35 - 40 minutes or until croissants are golden brown and completely cooked. Take a serving platter and secure it on top of the pie plate so you can flip over the pie plate to release the croissants and have the apple / pecan mixture on top and ready to serve on the platter. Serve right away
